I’m running for Town Council because I believe in people-first leadership – leadership that listens, plans responsibly, and puts the needs of Leland’s families and neighborhoods above all else. Our town is growing, and we have a responsibility to guide that growth thoughtfully while protecting what makes Leland special. I also believe that government should be connected to the people.
You deserve a council member who’s accessible, honest, and here for you. I will be that voice. I’m not running to sit in a seat- I’m running to serve. I believe in listening to the people, planning with intention, and always doing what’s right for our community. Leland’s best days are ahead – and I’d be honored to help shape them.
Leland is expanding- but we need to be intentional. Unchecked development strains infrastructure, schools and our environment. I believe in growth that serves people, not just profit.
I will:
· Work to slow the pace of new home construction so infrastructure can keep up
· Work to review and tighten permit approvals to ensure alignment with community needs
· Work to hold developers accountable for environmental responsibility and project impact
· Explore alternatives to open burning to protect health and air quality
· Preserve green spaces and trees while allowing for measured growth
· Engage residents in the planning process
Let’s grow smarter – with care, strategy, and respect for those who already call Leland home.
A strong local economy lifts the entire community but business development must be planned, balanced, and rooted in the long-term success of Leland – not short-term gain.
I will:
· Support locally owned businesses and entrepreneurs who invest in our town
· Encourage strategic growth in commercial zones not residential areas
· Work to attract businesses that create good paying jobs without overwhelming infrastructure
· Work to strengthen planning and infrastructure to support sustained economic growth
· Work with regional and state leaders to build a diverse local economy
· Work to ensure that economic growth reflects community priorities
Business growth should improve our town- not just increase traffic or sprawl. Let’s grow wisely, with purpose and balance.
Government works best when it’s connected to the people it serves. I believe in direct, transparent communication between elected officials and residents – not backroom decisions or top-down mandates.
I will
· Provide open channels for communication via email, phone, and social media
· Meet face-to-face with residents in neighborhoods, churches and public spaces
· Support transparency and accountability in all government operations
· Report back regularly on key decisions and town updates
· Prioritize listening first and leading with your concerns in mind
